 The marshalls took their time getting there with the fire extinguisher. If that had been Formula 1 they would have been there in seconds.

 :lmao: :lmao: uh Cerina, this is REAL racing, not F1 where the cars about a half hour apart, safety had to wait for the all the cars to come past before they could run out there

I've watched some Cerina, and its pretty good as far as what the cars can do, and the ability of the drivers, but you have to admit you don't see them run in packs or the amount of passing back and forth like you do in nascar. we reaslly don;t get much F1 here tho and when we do its usually on some odd hour

No, it's true that there isn't much pack running and, nowadays :? not that much overtaking. I have to admit it was more fun in past years, but then there were also more deaths, so I guess safety has taken priority.

as it should, what's amazing to me is to me is Edwards had that wreck and got out and ran to the finish line unhurt

but both are good racing, I'd like to see nascar incorporate some of the things that F1 does myself

Is NASCAR always run on an oval track? The great thing about F1 is the variety of tracks and the fact that adjustments have to be made for each one.

they do run a couple of road courses, which I'd like to see them run more, but the ovals are anywhere from a half mile to 2 and half miles, with D shaped tracks thrown in there and vastly different bankings, so what works on one track won't even come close on another. They used to have to have 20 or 30 cars for season because the tracks required different things but with this new car style they don't have as many, but there is still a tremedous amount of adjustments to be made even during the course of the race, heck if the sun goes behind the clouds, people who were running good will start to fade and ones that weren't so good will start running better.

One of the things they have done with F1 recently is to, as much as possible, unify the cars ... engine size, tyres, the size of the diffusers, that sort of thing, so that the result of the race is more down to the skill of the driver, and the pit stops, rather than having one car that is far superior to the others. Obviously, they are always looking at ways to get around these new regulations, but it seems to be having some results. So far this season, the big names like Ferrari, Williams, Maclaren, who are usually the runaway winners, haven't shown too much form and some of the smaller teams have been doing really well.

yeah that is what they have done in nascar, hence the cot, car of tomorrow, but the big teams are still ahead, now instead of spending millions to find a tenth of a second, they are spending it find thousandths of a second, but yeah they are very limited to what they can do to a car compared to what they used to do, I know one owner has gotten out of it because of frustration, he said used to be if he found a way to make a shock work better, he could do it, now they penalize him for it

this car seems to benefit drivers who like a car set up a certain way, and the ones who prefer a different set up are just screwed, it really seems to be more car now than driver to me

It is really good to see some of the smaller teams coming through now. I hope it continues through the season. It makes it far more interesting.

yeah it would here too, that was a small team that won Sunday, but the car was bought from one of the huge teams and the engine leased from them as well

Try this for a crash. I saw this on the WRC coverage last week. Twenty years ago they would have died in a crash like that, but nobody was injured thanks to roll cages. That really must be the worst feeling in the world. :puke:
